ULSTER COUNTY CLERK ANNOUNCES ROAD TEST SITE TO MOVE FROM DIETZ STADIUM
Kingston, NY – Ulster County Clerk Nina Postupack announces that the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Road Test Site will move from Dietz Stadium to Cornell Street at Tremper Avenue in Kingston. This change will take effect on Monday, March 6, 2023.

Decades before she took her fabled name, famed abolitionist and women's rights activist Sojourner Truth was born into slavery here in Ulster County under the name Isabella. It was as Isabella that the young Truth took action to secure the return of her 5-year son, Peter, who had been illegally sold to in plantation in Alabama. With the help of local attorneys, Isabella filed a Habeas Corpus Petition in the Ulster County Courthouse in March of 1828. ULSTER COUNTY TO PARTICIPATE IN PEACE TREE PLANTING AND RENEWAL OF 1665 PEACE TREATY WITH LOCAL NATIVE AMERICAN DESCENDANTS
Kingston, NY – Ulster County Clerk Nina Postupack is honored to announce a ceremonial Peace Tree Planting and an historic Peace Treaty Renewal between Ulster County and the Ramapough Lenape Nation, renewing the 1665 Richard Nicolls Esopus Peace Treaty which is part of the Ulster County Clerk’s Archival Collection. The renewal will take place Friday, August 5th at the Hudson River Maritime Museum, 50 Rondout Landing, Kingston.

The Ulster County Clerk's Office acts as custodian of the records for Ulster County. We oversee records dating back to 1658 including deeds, mortgages, judgments, liens, maps, civil and criminal actions. Yearly, hundreds of people search, file and record land records, legal documents, and court papers in the office.
The County Clerk’s Office also manages the Department of Motor Vehicles, administers the Oath of Allegiance to new citizens, processes passport and notary applications, and maintains the County Archives, as well as providing services for businesses and veterans.
