EXPLORING Ulster County: 1683-2013 Celebrating 330 Years of Ulster County

Welcome to the Exploring Ulster County Poster Project, an exhibit of colorful, insightful and imaginative posters!  Fourth grade students from public and private schools throughout Ulster County submitted posters to this exhibit.  The students were given the opportunity to interpret “Explore Ulster County” in their own way and in any medium.  The unique style and content of each poster shows the creativity and talent that our students possess.

Farmers & Physicians (On Display at the Ellenville Pubic Library)

The County Clerk’s Office is honored to collaborate with the Ellenville Public Library and Museum by providing records from the Ulster County Archives.  As you look through the exhibit, you will find records from the Archives that highlight hard-working local women in the early 20th century.  On display you will see Deeds, Farm Registries, Ashokan Reservoir Case Transcripts, Maps, Physician Registries, Photographs, and Census Data from the 1905 and 1915 Ulster County Census records.  We hope that the exhibit encourages you to learn more about the amazing women in Ulster County’s history!

Field Trips and Tours

Each year the Persen House welcomes hundreds of students from local schools, community organizations, college classes and more. We’ve had students from elementary, intermediate, junior-high, college, continuing education, and homeschool classes, as well as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other groups. Educators have used the Persen House as a part of their local history, cultural heritage, community engagement and art lessons. Tours can be tailored to your group's interests or curriculum.
