The 2023 season planning for the Matthewis Persen House Museum and Cultural Heritage Center is underway! Would your organization like to serve as a Guest Host on a Saturday during the season? As a Guest Host, you are welcome to hold a special event, lecture, exhibit, re-enactment or simply greet guests. The Persen House has welcomed over 40,000 visitors from all 50 states and 62 countries since opening for tours in 2010, making it an exceptional venue to showcase Ulster County's history and culture.
The County Clerk’s Office wants to ensure that the Persen House continues to be a viable resource for historical, cultural and community organizations throughout Ulster County. The Office has worked to bring many benefits to our Guest Hosts including (but not limited to):
- Promotion of your event on the Ulster County Clerk’s website and Facebook page, as well as Ulster County Tourism’s online calendar;
- Event listings on the New York State PATH THROUGH HISTORY website and other online community calendars;
- Weekly press releases highlighting upcoming guest host activities;
- Monthly event schedules available in hard-copy at the Persen House, Ulster County Office Building, Tourism, and the Ulster County Records Center, as well as a digital version on the Persen House website;
- Event signage and handouts in and around the Persen House and Kingston Farmer’s Market (located in the Courthouse parking lot).
We hope that this additional support will motivate groups to participate as Guest Hosts and consider returning to host each year. To reserve a date at the Persen House, kindly contact the Ulster County Archives at archives[at]co.ulster.ny[dot]us or (845) 340-3415. Reservations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
We appreciate your generous contribution of time and effort in enriching our understanding of Ulster County's history and culture. We look forward to hearing from you!
